Micro-piled raft foundations for Saáda commercial waterfront development in the Kingdom of Bahrain
On site trials and three dimensional analysis used to design raft foundations.
The low-rise development was uniquely suited to a micro-piled raft foundation avoiding the time consuming and expensive conventional deep, large diameter piles generally adopted for structures above one level high. In order to deliver the solution, TGE carried out trials and powerful three-dimensional analysis of the raft foundations, adjusting the design by strategically placing micropiles under the heavily loaded areas to arrive at a safe and efficient foundation design.
